From Wordle:
"Wordle is a toy for generating “word clouds” from text that you provide. The clouds give greater prominence to words that appear more frequently in the source text. You can tweak your clouds with different fonts, layouts, and color schemes. The images you create with Wordle are yours to use however you like. You can print them out, or save them to the Wordle gallery to share with your friends."
Some of you have already used Wordle in your classroom - but did you know there are shortcuts? Rather than writing that promient word 15 times, why not copy and paste? Or better yet use the advance tab in Wordle and use word : #.
Here are a few tips I picked up as I was creating my own Worlde:
1 - Create your list in a word editor like Word, or even Notepad. Now you can copy and paste your information into the Wordle tool.
2 - If you are going to use the advance tab, you need to give every word a value (Woody:40, Soldier:1)
3 - If you don't want to publish to the web try using your Snipping tool (Windows 7) or a screenshot in Windows XP (Control - Print Screen, then paste into a word document)
Go have fun and create!
I had a little fun with one of my favorite Pixar series:
